IVF+ICSI

The ICSI method involves injecting a spermatozoon into an egg. It is used in cases of male infertility due to a low sperm count or low motility, as well as in some cases for women trying to conceive past the age of 40. This procedure is one of the versions of the IVF method. Yet while a regular IVF procedure requires multiple high-quality spermatozoa, one spermatozoon suffices for IVF+ICSI.

What does the IVF+ICSI method involve?

The IVF+ICSI method has been developed to remedy severe forms of male infertility. We use special micro tools to inject one spermatozoon inside an egg.

When is ICSI used?

The ICSI method is used in cases of infertility due to a low sperm count or low motility, when spermatozoa cannot penetrate the egg.

The method is also used to treat infertility in women in the older age group, when their egg shells get too thick even for normal spermatozoa to penetrate the egg. ICSI is occasionally used when pregnancy does not occur after an ordinary IVF procedure using normal eggs and sperm.
