Success rates

The average pregnancy rate for patients who use the IVF method is almost 44%, and over 64% for those who uses donation programs.

The average efficiency of cycles is the primary indicator of every clinic’s treatment efficiency.

The ISIDA shows the rates of Europe’s best clinics and it’s efficiency constantly growing.

How are the efficiency rates calculated?

Efficiency rates you see on diagrams are the fractions of cases in which pregnancy was achieved out of all embryos transfers.

For example, the efficiency rate of 42.4 percent for the IVF+ICSI method means that actually in half of all embryo transfers, pregnancy was achieved.

Is it a lot or a little?

It’s a lot. Consider this simple comparison: the natural fertility per menstrual cycle for young women with regular sex lives is 25-30 percent.

What you should know comparing different clinics’ efficiency rates

It’s important to know that every infertility treatment center has its own policy concerning treatment.

Many clinics refuse to treat couples with complicated cases and instead, immediately propose the donation programs depriving them of a chance of fertilization with the own egg. One reason for doing so is a reluctance to “spoil”the clinics’ efficiency rates.

ISIDA clinic takes on the most complex medical cases (approximately half of all cases are complex). Our doctors are very rigorous in diagnoses and treatment is individually suited to each patient.

Second possibility “to correct” the efficiency rates is to use reproductive technologies for cases in which coupleshave good chances for natural conception. Of course in such cases, “efficiency rates” are rather impressive because it’s easier to treat healthy people.

Doctors at the ISIDA clinic recommend reproductive technologies only if all other methods are already exhausted or are proved ineffective in advance. In many cases, pregnancy can occur with the least invasive methods or by lower costs — such as using proper medicines, endoscopic procedures or intrauterine insemination.

Treatment efficiency depending on patient age

Age is one of the most decisive factor influencing chances of pregnancy. After 35, chances of pregnancy are obviously decreased and after 40, sharply reduced.

After 40, women’s ovaries produce less eggs therefore making chances for pregnancy — both naturally and using IVF —lower.

In every case, the ISIDA clinic chooses the best possible treatment, taking into account test results, health, age and other factors. Furthermore, the patient is always involved in the decision making process.

In many cases, patients have high chances for pregnancy using their own eggs. However, if that’s impossible, it’s better to use an egg donation program in order not to lose time and money on useless attempts.

Treatment efficiency in 2010:

Important!

Not age only determines treatment efficiency. Reproductive health depends on various factors, therefore it’s important to first verify the cause of infertility. The diagram shows the statistics of treatment efficiency depending on age.

Another important factor is case complication. These statistics include complex and extremely complex cases, therefore achieving such numbers is so valuable.

What does 100 percent efficiency rate mean?

One hundred percent efficiency rate means that all treatment cases were successful (using the stated method, for the patients of this age and for this period of time).

Egg donation programs are rarely used for women under 40 since doctors at ISIDA clinic are very cautious in choosing the treatment method. One hundred percent means that for those cases in which patients needed egg donation, treatment was successful.

IVF

(in vitro fertlization) — is an infertility treatment technique used in the case when the egg and the sperm cannot meet in a natural way. Fertilization is done at the lab and then the embryo is transferred into the woman’s body. If necessary donor materials can be recommended.

IVF+TESE

Assisted reproductive method when sperm got after testicular biopsy. Reproductologists use this method in case of male reproductive dysfunction, when sperm cannot be obtained in a regular way.

ASRM

American Society for Reproductive Medicine

ESHRE

European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology

ESGE

European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy

IVF+ICSI

(Intracytoplasmic sperm injection) — an assisted reproductive method of treating severe cases of male infertility. For this purpose the sperm are selected under the microscope and then one by one are injected into each egg.

Ultrasound check

A way of producing an image of an organ inside somebody’s body using sound waves

IUI

Intrauterine insemination is used in case of slight disorders of the reproductive function of one of the partners. Sperm of the husband or donor sperm is put into the uterus and fertilization happens in a natural way.

Frozen embryo transfer

Assisted reproductive method when frozen from previous cycles material is used.

Egg Donation

Assisted reproductive technique when donor eggs of a healthy woman are used for fertilization.
